Winter Session

The Winter Session is divided into two terms: the first term, generally from early September to late December (although some studies begin in August); and the second term, generally from early January to the end of April (although some studies continue well into the month of May). During the Winter Session, classes are offered in the day as well as in the evening.

Summer Session

Term 1 of Summer Session begins in early May and continues through June. Term 2 of Summer Session begins in early July and ends in mid-August.

Applicants to UBC's Okanagan Campus

Applicants to undergraduate programs should refer to the Application and Document Deadlines for general and program-specific information.

Applicants to graduate programs should refer to the College of Graduate Studies website for application information.

Where an application deadline falls on a day the University is closed, applications will be accepted on the following working day. Offices are closed Saturdays, Sundays, and all statutory holidays.

New Student Orientation

UBC Okanagan offers orientation and transition programming for all new-to-UBC students who begin their studies in Winter Session Term 1 or Winter Session Term 2. Programs include UBC101 Online Orientation, Jump Start (extended orientation), Create New Student Orientation, Indigenous Student Orientation, and more. Participants benefit from academic and social programming designed to introduce them to the University, their faculty, resources, and new friends.
