Admission Requirements

Admission to the dual degree program option will be available to direct entry students and current UBC Okanagan students registered in an eligible undergraduate program of study. Direct entry students will be admitted based on university admission standards. Students applying during their undergraduate studies will be admitted on a competitive basis conditional on spaces available in the Program. Students applying to the Master of Management Dual Degree Option will not be charged a Master of Management application fee. 

To be eligible for the dual degree program option a student must accept entry into or be registered in one of the following UBC Okanagan undergraduate programs:

Direct Entry to UBC

Individuals interested in pursuing the Dual Degree Program Option must first apply to the undergraduate program(s) of their choice following normal application procedures and paying the applicable application fees. They must then select to additionally apply to the Dual Degree Program Option. 

Successful applicants will initially be admitted to an undergraduate degree program, with subsequent admission to the Master of Management degree program, upon completion of the continuation requirements outlined below.  

Entry as a UBC Okanagan student

Current UBC Okanagan students are eligible to apply to the Dual Degree Program Option by going to the website and completing the Dual Degree Program Option application. 

Students applying to the Dual Degree Program Option will be admitted on a competitive basis conditional on spaces available in the Program and must achieve a minimum grade as noted below:

  • First-year: achieve an average of at least 65% in all courses attempted in each Winter Session until the student completes first-year.  
  • Second-year to graduation: achieve an average of at least 76% in all courses attempted in each Winter Session.   

Accepting an Offer of Admission  

Students that have received an offer into the Dual Degree Program Option will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit which is applied to the first instalment of tuition fees, upon accepting their offer of admission to the program.   

Continuation Requirements

At the completion of their undergraduate degree, students in the Dual Degree Program Option must have achieved a minimum overall average of 76% in all 300- and 400-level courses taken at UBC to be eligible to continue into the Dual Degree Program, have successfully completed MGMT _O 100 and MGMT _O 110, and have completed a minimum of two Dual Degree Program Workshops. Students who do not meet these continuation requirements will be required to discontinue from the Dual Degree Program Option.   

Students who meet the Master of Management continuation requirements and satisfy all the Master of Management degree requirements are eligible to graduate with the Master of Management Degree.
