Bachelor of Education Program Overview

The Okanagan School of Education offers the Bachelor of Education to persons interested in a career in teaching. The program leads to a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and recommendation to the Ministry of Education and Child Care for certification as a teacher in the province of BC.

  • Bachelor of Education Program (B.Ed.): 16 month post-degree, leading to certification. 

    The B.Ed. program is innovative and unique among teacher education programs. It comprises integrated coursework focusing on theory-practice connections and extensive field experience. B.Ed. students work alongside practicing teachers for the purpose of fostering professional learning over the continuum of an educator’s career.


     

Part Time Students

The Bachelor of Education program is an intensive, 16-month program. Because of the integrated nature of the coursework, part-time study is not possible.
